Course Description:

This course provides a broad introduction to the Arabic Phonology to students who study Arabic in the bachelor level. At the end of the course, students should be fairly familiar with the Arabic sound system and efforts of the Arabic linguistic in the field of phonetics, they will also be familiar with he International phonological writing scripts and some phonological issues related to tajwid.

The course also will give an introductory chapter on the instrumental Phonology. For the benefits of the users there will be a lesson covering phonological issues in Tajwi:d Alqura`an Alkari:m.

Prerequisites:

This module is designed for those who master all the skills of the Arabic language. It suits those learners who already have some background on general linguistics.  If you have little or no experience in Arabic phonology, you'll be right at home here. If you have some experience, you will learn some new information.

Start by reading the Syllabus, in order to get a comprehensive overview of the course .If you are satisfied by the contents and the policy of the course as has been described in the links syllabus , then click on the Register link to enter your metric number as user name and choose you password .

The Lessons link takes you to the lessons you should study in this course, The Evaluation link explains the evaluation tools used to grade the students .

The tools used are assignments and quizzes, mid semester test and final exam . Some of these  you will find when visit the site in since the first time . Other will be activated on the due dates.   

The Forum site hosts discussion room where you will find your classmates discussing issues related to the phonology The links used for academic purposes. It is for sharing knowledge amongst the class mate. It is monitored .Any vandalism will penalized.
